Satellite Radio Reception Issue?

We are hearing of people with XM/Sirius Satellite Radio having significant issues with reception in and near downtown Cincinnati.

Reports say that as people approach downtown, they lose reception entirely on their radios.

We would like to know about any of our readers having this issue. E-mail us at tristatemediawatch@gmail.com, or leave a comment on this item, and we'll get it.

I live in Newport and am having an awful time getting reception. I called Sirius and they said that they hadn't changed anything and that they have had no other complaints. Help... what happened?

That's what we're trying to figure out. And as for not having other complaints...I don't know how they haven't!

At 12:20 PM on June 11, 2009 my Sirius satellite reception just stopped like someone turned off a light switch. I work in downtown Cinci and never had any issues before. Now, I have major issues. Most of the time I just get an "X" in the upper right hand corner while the display indicates
"Acquiring Signal". I took all of my equipment home to test it out and it works fine so it is not the antenna, the cradle or power supply.

I had a week long e-mail "conversation" with Sirius support and they say they are nto having any issues with the repeaters or any of their equipment so it must be mine?? I explained ad nauseum that all of my equipment works fine in my car and hooked up at home but they just stopped responding.

The only thing I can think of is the switch to Digital TV was on/around that time and maybe it affects the downtown area?? Pulled that out of my @$$ because I am looking for a denitive answer!! And I am pissed off!!!

My power cord for my Sirius stopped working back in May, and it was June before I got around to get another one. Power was working at that point, but no signal! I was ready to call and cancel, but in the last couple of days all of a sudden signal is much better. Has anyone else noticed that too?

No difference for me -- still getting the "X". All equipment works at my home. Something has changed in downtown Cinci!
